Hello, I currently use to store videos from open source computer security classes at (and I'm also a happy $1k donor to because you guys rule :)). Some of the classes that we store here use linux VMs with labs so the students can work on exercises. I would like to be able to upload compressed linux VMs and then have them downloadable via torrent. First, is it allowed to upload a zip file to my movie archive collection, and second, if so, how can I enable the creation of a torrent file for just the zip file?

yes, you can upload a zip in addition to your content files. we don't derive from zips but it will be available for download in the item.

at the moment we are only automatically adding torrent files to items in the opensource collections. i can add your collection on request to the list of collections that would automatically get them. please send the request to

i have added torrent files to your 153 existing items.

and...thank you so much for the donation.
